The American Institute of Financial Advisors is an independent recognition organization and free-to-consumer directory that helps people find financial advisors and advisory firms known for client satisfaction.
Our Mission
Choosing a financial advisor is one of the most personal decisions a household makes. Our mission is to highlight advisors whose clients publicly and consistently report positive experiences, so consumers have one more useful starting point for their own research.
What We Do
- Identify advisors and firms each year using publicly available client review data (see Selection Criteria).
- Publish state-by-state selections in our Advisor Directory.
- Offer optional free and paid memberships to selected advisors.
What We Don’t Do
- We do not sell selections. Payment never affects whether an advisor is selected.
- We do not provide investment, tax, or legal advice.
- We do not rank advisors on investment performance, and we do not verify licensing or disciplinary history. Consumers should check adviserinfo.sec.gov and brokercheck.finra.org.
